Our Viticulturist of the Year

Last night, at the 2017 Langton's Margaret River Wine Show, Fogarty Wine Group Chief Viticulturist John Fogarty was awarded the prestigious 2017 Viticultural Excellence Award. 

After an initial written assessment and gruelling interview, John was selected from three finalists for the award.

"The competition was incredibly stiff. With the other two finalists, I would have never thought I would win this one. It's a great honour for me personally, but also for the whole Viti team across the group" - John Fogarty

John receives a grant to pursue more education in a particular field of viticulture so that he can bring his learnings back to the region and make it better as a whole.

"At this stage I'm still unsure where I will go and what I will try to learn more about. It's no secret that I have a bit of a thing about Trunk Disease. I'll look in to that more when the dust settles" - John Fogarty
