TWO TROPHIES AWARDED TO DEEP WOODS ESTATE AT 2021 ROYAL MELBOURNE WINE AWARDS

We are delighted to announce Deep Woods Estate has been recognised as one of Australia’s best producers of Chardonnay and Cabernet, winning two trophies at the 2021 Royal Melbourne Wine Awards.

Established in 1884, the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards provide producers with an invaluable opportunity to benchmark their wines and gain insights from an independent panel of experts.

Deep Woods 2020 Single Vineyard Chardonnay, a true small batch wine coming from a low-yielding super premium vineyard in Karridale, was awarded the trophy for Best Western Australian Chardonnay.

The exceptional value-for-money Deep Woods 2019 Estate Cabernet Merlot, one of Julian’s favourite mid-week drops, outperformed wines twice its price picking up the trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon Blend. A fantastic result.

Chief Winemaker, Julian Langworthy, recognised the importance of Deep Woods achievement,

“Great to have the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards back! It’s an Australian institution and we are thrilled to have done so well again and especially more so for our twin strengths of Chardonnay and Cabernet; in some of the most hotly contested wine show classes in Australia.”
