Deep Woods Estate wins big in Ray Jordan's WA Wine Guide

Deep Woods Estate has been chosen by Ray Jordan in his newly released The West Australian Wine Guide 2017 as the Winery of the Year; while the 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon won both the Wine of the Year and Red Wine of the Year; and Julian Langworthy, Chief Winemaker at Deep Woods Estate was chosen as Winemaker of the Year.

This follows the 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon winning 6 Gold Medals and 5 Trophies, including the coveted Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for Best Young Red Wine at the 2016 Melbourne Wine Awards; and the Max Schubert Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine at the 2016 Royal Adelaide Wine Show.

Ray's words on the wine:

Deep Woods Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Score: 98/100, Cellar: 20 Years

These Reserve Deep Woods cabernets have been on the top shelf for some time now and this is another cracker that is as good as any produced so far. A striking feature is the balance and how well the oak tannin and fruit have come together into a powerful collective that effortlessly punches out to the long finish. The most elegant and stylish yet and a marvellous statement of what this part of Margaret River can do. Outstanding.
