"Best wine ever tasted from Deep Woods"

Recently, Deep Woods unveiled two new cellar-door only, super-premium Cabernet Sauvignon wines:

2012 Deep Woods Estate 'Grand Selection' Wilyabrup
2012 Deep Woods Estate 'Grand Selection' Yallingup

These wines highlight, to the best of the DWE ability, the distinct styles of both the Yallingup and Wilyabrup sub-regions in the greater Margaret River Region.

The Grand Selection Cabernets produced from no more than the four best barrels of (preferentially) single vineyard wine and only in the most outstanding vintages, these wines are afforded the utmost care and attention from the vineyard through to the winery.

Extremely different to the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, these wines are not about representing a house 'style', rather to highlight the expression of a single vintage from a single sub-region.

Both wines have been met with fantastic responses from the press with Mike Bennie,  a leading Australian Wine Journalist, saying the Wilyabrup was the "best wine tasted ever from Deep Woods". (The Wine Front, May 2016)

James Halliday also scored the wines highly with the 2012 Yallingup receiving 95 points and the 2012 Wilyabrup receiving an amazing 97 points.

He had this to say about the Wilyabrup: "There is a silky succulence to the mouthfeel of the pure cassis flavours, the fragrance of the bouquet heightened retrospectively by the medium-bodied palate; the tannins are super fine, the oak handling perfect, the length prodigious".
