Annual Deep Woods Reserve Release: Dinner by the Bay
Join Deep Woods Estate Chief Winemaker Julian Langworthy and Senior Winemaker Andrew Bretherton for an exclusive dinner to celebrate the annual Deep Woods Reserve Release.
This year’s Reserve Dinner will be held at the spectacular Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and will include canapés on the deck at sunset, before you are seated for a delicious four-course menu overlooking the stunning Freshwater Bay and Swan River.
A number of Deep Woods Estate wines and award-winning museum releases will be poured on the night, including the 2014 Jimmy Watson-winning Cabernet Sauvignon and the soon-to-be released 2021 Chardonnay and 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve wines.
This event will allow you to be some of the very first people in Australia to taste these highly awarded Reserves.
The Deep Woods Reserve wines have become some of the most sought-after and hard to source wines in Australia. These truly remarkable and consistently superb wines are made from hand-selected parcels of fruit, coupled with the very best French oak. These wines are produced in very limited quantities and are recognised as some of the finest wines produced in Australia.
The Deep Woods Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Australia’s most awarded Cabernets, winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2016 and being one of just two Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world to be crowned Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2022.
Following this incredible result, the pre-release allocation of the 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon sold out online and there are now less than ten six-packs of this wine available for the formal public release. This means you may be some of the only people in the country who will get to taste this highly sought-after wine.
On the new release Reserve wines, Chief Winemaker Julian Langworthy said, “The Deep Woods Reserve Chardonnay is one of Margaret River and Australia’s most recognised and regionally distinctive Chardonnays. It is structured and powerful, yet beguiling and sophisticated. The 2021 Reserve Chardonnay marks my tenth vintage of making this modern, house-style. It beautifully represents the strength of our Chardonnay program and has now become one of Deep Woods’ most iconic wines.
This year’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon release is as always, an epic expression of Margaret River Cabernet and recently won Best in Show at Decanter – the only Australian Cabernet and one of two Cabernets in the world to be awarded this prestigious title. It is a wine for the cellar if you can wait, effortless in every way, an elegant, cassis flavoured dream.”
