triple feature for deep woods in ray jordan's top 100 reds of 2019

triple feature for deep woods in ray jordan's top 100 reds of 2019

We're very excited that up against strong competition from more than 650 wines from across the country, Deep Woods Estate featured three times in Ray Jordan's Top 100 Reds of 2019. Both the 2017 Estate Shiraz et al and the 2017 Ebony Cabernet Shiraz were awarded 92 points and the soon to be released 2017 Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec scooped a fabulous 93 points.

Ray was particularly taken with the exceptional value of the 2017 Estate Shiraz et al, commenting that he was "still not sure why a wine of this quality and style sells for just $20, but hey, who's complaining." He went on to describe the wine as "generous, soft and fruity with spicy floral aromas and a thoroughly delicious palate. The balance of sweet supple fruit and fine chalky slightly gravelly tannins really hits the right notes to give the wine a personality."

Value for money was also a key criteria for Ray with the Deep Woods 2017 Ebony Cabernet Shiraz, which he described as "another of the best budget buys that hits the mark year in and year out. Spicy plummy chocolate and blackcurrant fruit in abundance. A light touch of spicy oak completes a well-presented package."

The soon to be released Deep Woods 2017 Single Vineyard Cabernet Malbec also caught Ray's attention, with him stating that he does "love the influence of malbec in the cabernet blends." He went on to describe "this cracking new wine" as one that has "both power and elegance".
